Carm - el: Garden of God… a place where birthing, growing and dying happen in the planting, pruning, grafting and
withering. In the garden, essential aspects of life take place. The garden accommodates life in all shapes since it can
be planted with varied species of plants. The freshness of the place, the solidity of the soil, the greenness of the plants –
all provide energy for the body, for the soul.

In the garden, there is work to be done; there is activity going on. There is movement; there is life.

As Carmelites, we discover the Mystery of God among the people. We keep our balance to sustain the lives of others in their
experience of the mystery of pain and suffering. Our desert experience is our constant companion as we accompany others to
help build the kingdom.

Our life of consecration, which is a sacred call of total surrender is inspired by Christ whose example of intimate communion with
God made us offer ourselves in sacrifice and love.
